Who needs to register in Maine?

Organizations organized or operated for a charitable purpose that solicit, accept or obtain contributions from the public in Maine, including chapters, branches and affiliates and out-of-state charities soliciting in Maine, unless exempt.

Exemptions: Exemptions are set by 9 MRSA § 5006. Unless specifically exempted, a charitable organization soliciting in Maine must be licensed.
